Castle

The
Lamothe Castle in Moumour was the reason for the village of Moumour springing up
(a village with character, of 800 souls, at an altitude of 250 metres).
When approached from the village streets, it passes by unnoticed. But when you pass
through the gate, it appears, at the far end of 2 hectares of shady beautiful
grounds,
which were designed and created by the landscape gardener, Buller.

Description
of the property:
Moumour
Castle is a beautiful property which has a remarkable ability to bring
a feeling of peace,
thanks to its atmosphere
of well-being, from
the very first steps that a visitor takes through the gateway.
This
sensation is not due to chance. It arises from the application throughout the property
(Chateau, grounds, tower, well) of the same design and construction principles (location,
orientation, adherence to the golden ratio,
and so on) as those used during the building of the pyramids and cathedrals. This
is why the Bishops of Oloron used the property as a retreat from
the 13th to the 18th century, and this characteristic of the property remains
to this day. The
Moumour Chateau is today
still a
haven of peace radiating
an atmosphere of bliss.

overlooking the valley.
It benefits from a panoramic view of the Pyrenees mountains.
It
is enclosed by period ramparts (and its accompanying walkway)
and has a 5-sided watchtower (13th
century) like the Moncade tower in Orthez.
